Valtteri Bottas insists it would be “best for the interests of the team” if Sauber retained him in their one vacant seat for the 2025 season as the Finn made his case in what he termed the “experience vs youth” battle for one of F1’s two final seats.
“We have been in touch on a weekly basis and I know the terms I’m up for, just basically waiting for the green light.”Bottas has been an ever-present on the F1 grid since 2013, first with Williams, and won 10 grands prix in a five-year spell as Lewis Hamilton’s team-mate at Mercedes before joining Sauber in 2022.“The situation I’m in now with only one seat available of course there is a risk ,' he said.
