Electric vehicle targets are set to be adjusted by Labour to allow the sale of hybrid models until 2035, under pressure from car manufacturers. Former transport secretary Louise Haigh was reportedly open to this change, which would adopt Boris Johnson's original 2020 plan. The industry has pushed for changes to the zero-emission vehicle mandate, arguing that consumer demand for electric vehicles remains low.
