The startups all fall under the categories of capital markets, enterprise tech, insurtech, open data, or regtech. Participants include BITA, Globacap, Hazy, USEncryption, Bewica, ThePensionLab, Cerebreon, Ducit AI, Apiax, and Norbloc. Of note, this year's cohort marked a 50% increase in the number of female founders compared with last year's.
The consultancy has various accelerators across the world, and startups get access to a variety of mentors who can help them make their solutions more successful. Apart from London, Accenture has fintech accelerators in New York and Hong Kong. Across all accelerators, alumni startups have raised a total of over $2 billion in VC funding, with the London Lab accounting for $500 million across 94 startups.
Participants in the three-month program get to partner with senior executives from over 40 financial institutions as mentors to further develop and enhance their business models and technologies. With mentors from across Accenture's broad client base, each startup has the opportunity to find a suitable partner to fine tune their solutions. Additionally, being introduced to many financial institutions can help participants find first clients for their solutions.
