.ScottMorrisonMP has announced an “urgent injection” of tourism funding as the bushfire crisis creates the biggest challenge to tourism “in living memory”. auspol

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the package was an “urgent injection” of funds for tourist hot spots affected by bushfires, saying: “This is make or break for many businesses.”

Mr Morrison said Australian tourism was facing “its biggest challenge in living memory” after the summer’s bushfires, which have dominated headlines around the world.

One of the goals of the new funding is to change the world’s perception of Australia, with the Australian Tourism Industry Council telling the ABC this weekThe government has set aside $20 million for marketing to domestic travellers and $25 million for a global tourism campaign to advise international visitors that Australia is “safe and open for business”.The government plans to give grants of up to $1.

The package also includes funding to encourage international publicity for Australia’s tourism industry and spread the message that Australia’s educational and export sectors are still open for business, as well as drive attendance to the Australian Tourism Exchange.Tourism is a significant part of the economy in regional Australia, with 43 cents of every visitor dollar spent in the regions.

ScottMorrisonMP So a failed marketing guy, from a political party know for making funds inaccessible has announced another fake assistance package. I feel so much better now..

ScottMorrisonMP Jingles can't bring back extinct animals ScottyfromMarketing You'll be sacked for fraud, just like you were at Tourism Australia.

ScottMorrisonMP Unfortunately the world now knows all too well that our PM chooses Hawaii over Australia for his own holidays. Not a good recommendation.

ScottMorrisonMP Shout fossil fuel execs worldwide holidays on our east coast. Buy them free fly-overs where the forests used to be. Make them do some 'glamping' in Mallacoota. That will serve 2 puposes: pop some dollars back into the local economies, and shake the shit out of them (maybe!)

ScottMorrisonMP The issue he created himself by his gross negligence towards climate change and bushfires.

ScottMorrisonMP If these $s had been spent on waterbombers—more equipment preparedness as was shown to .ScottMorrisonMp as being urgently required-Lives may have been spared-homes saved-animals-Habitat-stock-livelihoods WhatA Waste=Time2Go PM u didn’t take expert advice or respond as required😢

ScottMorrisonMP ScottyFromMarketing to the rescue. Of profit, not people

ScottMorrisonMP The media would do Australia a huge favour if they investigated why ScottMorrisonMP has been sacked from previous tourism jobs he's had. Is he even capable of Implementing tourism policy, while spending tend of millions of taxpayer money? His track record would indicate he's not

ScottMorrisonMP Taking money away from bushfire victims rebuilding homes to pay celebs to visit and post on Instagram. Only ScottyfromMarketing could think this is a good idea. Fall on your sword mate.

ScottMorrisonMP exodisastertours only a failed flim flam add man like ScottyFromMarketing would do something as ridiculous at this time! auspol

ScottMorrisonMP ScottyFomMarketing decides marketing will save us from climate change.

ScottMorrisonMP Nawww, you talk to the people around these parts and one or two of them say there was a bigger tourism challenge back in the '30s. So it's probably best not to do anything - these things go in cycles, you know.

ScottMorrisonMP This looks like a job for thejuicemedia....

ScottMorrisonMP Isn’t all this going on advertising for the Libs?

ScottMorrisonMP more money for their mates, this government is shameless, thieves of the worst kind

ScottMorrisonMP Scotty from Marketing has a new slogan. ‘Cash via Catastrophe’

ScottMorrisonMP Blue mountains is a nice place to visit.

ScottMorrisonMP Come to AUSTRALIA! Check out the post-apocalyptic landscape, the poor air quality and politicians that do nothing about climate change.

ScottMorrisonMP Why not give all Australians a holiday in Hawaii?

ScottMorrisonMP That sounds almost as useful as thoughts and prayers.

ScottMorrisonMP How about an urgent injection of food for starving wildlife - can’t roll out a koala for the next tourism ad when there aren’t any left.

ScottMorrisonMP More slogans? No thanks. Put the money on the ground to assist those affected, humans and wildlife.

ScottMorrisonMP How about we urgently inject that money back into the areas directly affected? Or towards easy the cost of living so we can afford to travel and see our beautiful country...

ScottMorrisonMP Scientists say that if nothing is done for GlobalWarming, uncontrollable fires 🔥 will be back every year during hot days. People will experience pollution and drought and with a government in denial who refuses to cooperate, Australia is maybe not the lucky country after all...

ScottMorrisonMP Our tourism is contingent on our environment and climate. Last I heard and saw, we have beef incinerated and subject to flood with images sent around the world of dead and injured animals and coughing athletes. We need to look at the bigger picture here, it’s going to take years.

ScottMorrisonMP Hmm perhaps consider a south coast holiday instead of Hawaii next time Slomo ScottMorrisonMP

ScottMorrisonMP Oh dear. You do realize you are looking like fools overseas. Get a grip. It’s all about perception and you and your crazy, lazy, do nothing Govt have failed. Who’s the advertising agency awarded this injection of taxpayers money SacktheLNP BushFireCrisisAustralia

ScottMorrisonMP And what about that big campaign that was launched by tourism Australia just as the fires started? It was put in hold. What happened to the money allocated for that campaign? So why move money from reconstruction to this? ScottyfromMarketing

ScottMorrisonMP We have government departments who are charged with the responsibility of promoting Australian tourism and development. Don't they have budgets of their own? Why not use the money already allocated? Why take from reconstruction funds? ScottyfromMarketing

ScottMorrisonMP Didn’t Morrison say a few months ago that it’s just fire. Fire is apart of Australia and he remembers as a kid smelling smoke? And now he is worried! So loss of lives, homes, flora and fauna were ok? Seems he is just worried about $$$

ScottMorrisonMP Disaster tourism is not a good industry to focus on ScottyFromMarketting auspol AustraliaBurns

ScottMorrisonMP Unprecedented temperatures, unprecedented fires, unprecedented consequences. $70m is nothing. Coalition MPs embezzle more than that before breakfast

ScottMorrisonMP “Tourism Funding”. He never really was that big on details was he

ScottMorrisonMP Ghouls 😠

ScottMorrisonMP Biggest challenge to tourism and this entire country is ScottMorrisonMP and his band of merry criminals. It’s not just tourism that is suffering.

ScottMorrisonMP The $76m is coming out of the $2b. Birmo said it on ABC this morning. It is not new money. None of the announcements made over the last 2 weeks are new money.

ScottMorrisonMP I no from speaking to people in the UK that they won't come to Australia one because of Morrison his known world wide as a w---ker . Also we're to expensive and to many restricting laws . It's all south American, eastern Europe and Asia now . Far more exciting than Australia.

ScottMorrisonMP Hundreds of thousands of places all over the world have chosen Tourism as key to their post industrial economies - reliant on mass fuel use. fasttravel is part of the global problem & needs rethinking. What else could that money be doing for local communities? ClimateEmergency

ScottMorrisonMP ScottyfromMarketing new ad “Come and see what Global Warming can do for you - spend weeks looking at dead stuff through a smoke haze that may or may not be good for anyone with breathing issues..” “see it first before any of it grows back or gets turned farmland”

ScottMorrisonMP Fantastic stuff, those communities that rely on tourism really need our support now. Australian's should forgo oversees holidays for a year and holiday at home instead! Let's help our fellow Australians!

ScottMorrisonMP

ScottMorrisonMP ScottMorrisonMP sacked as a Director for Tourism Now wants to inject money for Tourism ? the stupidity is deafening Make sure you have enough vomit bags and masks PM is unhinged

ScottMorrisonMP Who wants to visit a country where the Prime Minister went to Hawaii & willingly & knowingly let the bush, land, animals & people burn.? It took a long time for Germany to recover after their Nazi firestorm & the same will be true for Australia MorrisonFires🔥KoalaKiller auspol

ScottMorrisonMP Um an injection of tourism while everything is still burning and dead animals are still on the ground and there is nowhere to stay? You people are idiots. Scott Morrison is a useful as boobs on a bull. Are we getting in shipping containers of masks to be given out on the plane?

ScottMorrisonMP Ffs.

ScottMorrisonMP All this money going into 'damage control'. It would be interesting to see analysis of these costs compared to the 'unacceptable costs' of preparing ahead of time for the fire Season. Based on the policy position Bill Shorten had on improving Fire Fighting resources, /2

ScottMorrisonMP Scotty thinks marketing is the answer to everything.

ScottMorrisonMP I hope the marketing campaign to get aussies to holiday at home is crash tested on ScottFromMarketing auspol

ScottMorrisonMP Any chance we could concern ourselves with the people who have lost everything, but have still received no assistance? Australian citizens are rationing what food they have left!

ScottMorrisonMP Come see our bushfire zones, Australia's version of Italys Pompei!!

ScottMorrisonMP $45m for marketing, so that should be say 10% donated back to LNP campaign funds. He’s asked senbmckenzie to oversee the grant allocation. Scott Camm probably has a relative that runs a travel agency somewhere, splash some cash to her or him. Get Hockey to run a garden party $1m

ScottMorrisonMP To see fucking what 🐨🌲😷🙈

ScottMorrisonMP Incredible. He's going to give millions to celebs to make ads to go to places that are ash and cinders. Repurpose that money for the affected people and places Scotty from marketing.

ScottMorrisonMP Why? I thought the coal industry was far more important

ScottMorrisonMP How low can you go? What is the point of doing a Tourism funding? All the major places are on fire, have been burnt to a crisp, or can't get to. Blue Mountains are no longer, French and Kangeroo Island on Fire.

ScottMorrisonMP I've already got ScottyfromMarketing's new slogan: 'Where The Bloody Hell Are All The Koalas Gone?' Done. Gimme the $76 million thanx. auspol

ScottMorrisonMP Scott Morrison will be forever rememebered as the PM who holidayed overseas as AustraliaBurns.

ScottMorrisonMP 1st step for recovery help the victims 2nd step declare a climate emergency, 3rd step get the scientists recommendations, 4th step DO SOMETHING!!! Then tourists might come back.

ScottMorrisonMP That’s a big job even for ScottFromMarketing

ScottMorrisonMP ScottyFromMarketting - how good is fake surplus? Your inaction and ineptitude has come seriously unstuck now that environmental catastrophes have driven down the economy even further

ScottMorrisonMP I mean this guy is clueless! Talk about flogging a dead horse! 76M to encourage people to go holidaying in disaster zones! Even if they avoid it he disaster zone they will most likely be somewhere with the poorest air quality in the world! scoMo is a moron! ScottyfromMarketing

ScottMorrisonMP Thanks to greens trashing Australia to the world!

ScottMorrisonMP The cost of doing very little about climate change, ScottyfromMarketing Didn’t you get fired as boss of Tourism Australia...?

ScottMorrisonMP Let me guess the funds are again coming out of the NDIS fund 🤔 ScottyfromMarketing ndis

ScottMorrisonMP There are costs and consequences of not trying to prevent climate change-and those costs will be higher, far higher than prevention. But as usual, we as a species act too late. It is *very* difficult to cool down a planet once it gets warm and feedback processes add more heating

ScottMorrisonMP Will the $76 million pay for an ad about how amazing burnt out wastelands are? Imagine all the opportunities for post-apocalyptic photography! Although, to be fair, that does sound kind of cool....

ScottMorrisonMP This is not how tourism works. You need something to look at not just charred bush and dead animals. And places to stay - the last I looked - those placed burned to the ground too..
