As the coronavirus pandemic continues, WWE announced on Wednesday that it would be furloughing staff and implementing cost-cutting measures.

As the coronavirus pandemic impacts nearly all facets of life, WWE announced on Wednesday that it would be furloughing staff and implementing cost-cutting measures in response to the ongoing global health crisis.

My immediate thoughts.@WWE @WWENXT #WWE #NXT @TripleH @ShawnMichaels #Cruiserweight pic.twitter.com/Afw58V7eo1 The company’s announcement comes days after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that it would be deemed an “essential business” and be allowed to film shows at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla.

Thee Performance Center itself is a closed set. We’re shooting in waves. No one person, regardless of who they are, is allowed to enter if they have a temperature of over 100.4, or if they have been out of the country or been in touch with someone who has been out of the country. WWE may also be contractually obligated to put on live shows instead of taping bulk episodes and airing them weekly — as it had done prior to last Friday’s episode of Smackdown. According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s television deals with NBCUniversal and Fox may both call for a specific number of shows to be aired live each year.

Misleading title as always. All sports in Florida were deemed essential We already know DeSantis is a despicable human being, bedsides being a moron, but shouldn’t we be bashing Vince McMahon also? He’s willing to risk his wrestlers health for these shows. Both are taking the money with no regard for anyone’s health. What’s with the wrestlers too?
