European stocks jump at the open; Dow futures up over 300 points

European stocks climbed Monday, buoyed by data showing the slowest rate of growth in new-virus cases since late February.

The gains also came after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell sounded optimistic in an interview. The Stoxx Europe 600 SXXP, +2.19% climbed 2%, futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average YM00, +1.68% rose 311 points and light sweet crude CL00, +4.81% topped $30 a barrel.
