Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine got attention early on in the pandemic as a potential treatment for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. The drugs are approved for other uses, but not for the treatment of COVID-19. at what stage of the infection were the patients administered the treatment? Was this a last ditch effort? if they were already incubated for weeks, would any drug work?
Chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine are old drugs , so their human body actions are known to a large extent, and predictability in this new disease should be better. Though political readings by all sides is making a fair debate almost impossible this days.
