To those points, Kevin O'Leary, a CNBC contributor and an investor on ABC's "Shark Tank," has some advice for small business owners.First of all, "people are scared," says O'Leary. That means not all your customers may feel comfortable returning.by predictive analytics company First Insight conducted on April 20, only 43% of Americans surveyed feel comfortable returning to local small businesses.

So, says O'Leary, "don't put any specific targets in place because you don't know what it's going to be like.... Obviously, you're going to have social distancing, and [it] may be very hard to be profitable if you're expecting people to come to your store somewhere.""People are still out of their mind worried about this virus, and they're going to take a long time to forget about it," he says. "So, you have to stay alive for that day.

All in all, O'Leary believes "America will spring back so fast when people feel safe again. It'll be great. Baby steps," he says. The best credit cards of 2020 could earn you over $1,000 in 5 years

MakeIt Stop it with the O’Leary tweets. I’m sure you can find other investors that have better advice.

MakeIt It’s not his advice, it’s his mom’s

MakeIt Not super helpful, most businesses are aware that cutting costs is a good idea, a biz w a 3% margin is probably already trying to be as thrifty as it can be, and when business is down 10%, I can't think of any tips that would save them.

MakeIt This guy is a joke.

MakeIt Why worry when everyone gets bailed out? trumpbubble

MakeIt 'Don't give away stuff for free.' 'Don't let people steal stuff.' 'Don't buy too much stuff.' 'Don't sweat the small stuff.' 'Most important, don't buy coffee by the cup or gum by the stick.'

MakeIt Stating the obvious. No small business owner ever has the luxury of wasting money, even in the best of times.

MakeIt kevinolearytv Kevin, I think small businesses just got a crash course in thriftiness lol.... thanks for the profoundly deep advise smh

MakeIt Brilliant...so insightful. Let me clue you in on a little something that most small businesses already know...it's how to be thrifty. Save that advice for the big businesses...or the biggest one of them all (the Federal Gov't).
