Lifelike animatronic dolphin pitched as replacement in Chinese aquariums

Special effects designers have created an animatronic dolphin for aquariums. The remote-controlled robot is shockingly lifelike but costs $40-$60million. They're being pitched to aquariums in China where wildlife trade is now banned.

Sounds like progress but since when did China ever do anything to be nice to animals? I would be suspicious of intentions. The sort of ppl who visit aquariums/marine parks like to see animals trapped & performing at the will of a master. Will a fake be enough to satisfy this ?
