B.C. concerned about flaws in Ottawa\u0027s small business rent aid program

by organizations that represent B.C.’s major commercial landlords and most of the province’s 500,000 small businesses.

The Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance program is jointly funded by the provinces and Ottawa. “The uptake is embarrassingly low, that’s what these numbers say to me,” said federation vice-president Laura Jones.

To many bearucrates to much government

......and our business is film based and while the border is closed......our revenue is down....100%.....I don't need anyone to feel sorry for us....and we'll do whatever it takes, but I am tired of the GOV BS....provide benefit directly to the tenant....

As I have posted numerous times......the program fails many.....I have been in business for 20 years....never a loss.....and our sophisticated landlord will not administer a loan from GOV or eat 25%.....so I keep digging, deeper and deeper into our pocket....
