The top-ranked stock-picker in small companies has returned 13 times more than his peers this year. He breaks down the 5 little-known stocks he's using to bet on the 5G and work-from-home revolutions.

Chris Retzler's strategy of investing in vital tech components made investors a lot of money in 2019, and it's still standing out during the chaos of 2020.fund has high concentrations of chipmakers and designers in the lesser-known parts of the technology space. He reasons that whatever technological breakthroughs are coming, infrastructure will be necessary and its importance will probably grow.

"We continue to emphasize in our portfolio those companies that have exposure to the work-from-anywhere environment," he said in an exclusive interview. "Communication and infrastructure and security are all themes that we have invested in, and have become more overweight in, because we think those secular trends are firmly in place."

Here are five companies Retzler bet on in recent months because of that combination of value and technological demand."What we have seen with the work-from-anywhere theme or trend is that the systems are running hotter," Retzler said. That then requires investment to be able to move more of that traffic that is not consolidated into commercial office buildings but are running over residential systems." .
