Fears the Chinese Communist Party will commandeer the masses of data generated by China-owned tech firms for national security reasons is the root cause behind concerns from western governments according to Sky News contributor Cory Bernardi.

India has recently banned a number of Chinese technology apps including Tik Tok and WeChat over cyber security concerns. Mr Bernardi said the banning of Chinese tech companies could be the next step in the “technology battlefield” after many countries have already banned Chinese telco Huawei from their communications infrastructure.

The problem is systemic. The tec businesses collect way too much private data and for them it is product they sell. With US tech the aim of the data is marketing to us. With China who knows?

The US is just as worse.. The US has been doing it since the old Echelon project was used for furthering the US interests by industrial espionage with security as an excuse, probably the same with US Cloud Act that has given them access to Aussie commercial and government data.

Yeh im scared of china,,, nottttttttttttt... they couldnt develop a shoelace without stolen plans.. happens from a socialist lockdown mind fpr generations..
