But the creator industry isn't disappearing and many have shifted their focus to alternative revenue streams. There are many ways social-media influencers make money, ranging from sponsorships and direct YouTube ad revenue to selling consumer products. Business Insider is hosting a webinar with YouTube stars Shelby Church , Ruby Asabor , and Katy Bellotte on how they have adapted their businesses during the pandemic and the ways creators are earning a living in 2020. The ad business has been hurting for influencers in recent months as brands have cut marketing budgets to save on costs and avoid appearing tone-deaf during the coronavirus pandemic.
