Certain affected 2020 Corvettes fail to enter a low-power "sleep mode" after powering off for 10 minutes, the notice reads. Because of that, the trunk lid release button, which is found in the car's front trunk, might not work after the car is off.
The 2020 Corvette has a front trunk because it is a mid-engined car. For this latest C8 generation, the engine was moved from its previous position in front of the driver to behind the driver, thus freeing up the front of the car for storage space.
The fix, thankfully, sounds simple: General Motors just needs to update the software in the Corvettes' Body Control Module to reduce the necessary voltage needed to "wake" the car from its low-power sleep mode.
