Shadow Housing Minister JasonClareMP says the government needs to do more to support the building industry, after a report forcasted a significant drop in the number of homes being built.

Shadow Housing Minister Jason Clare says the government needs to do more to support the building industry, after a report forcasted a significant drop in the number of homes being built. Master Builders Association on Monday said there was a 27 per cent fall in home building looming.

“Their forecast today shows instead of building 170,000 homes this financial year, it’s more like 125,000,” Mr Clare told Sky News. “If there is a massive drop in the number of homes built then that means there is lots and lots of jobs lost in the housing industry. “This is an industry that employs about one million people. “That’s why I have been arguing for months that the government has got to pull their finger out and do something here.

JasonClareMP If only there was an indusrty that could generate ONE MILLION NEW JOBS with a little backing!!!

JasonClareMP Wait 6 months for it to be built on a 5% deposit move in and magically watch that 5% disappear and more. Then rates rise the bank says sell now before you owe more money and the rich investors come in and buy a 3yo home 50k cheaper 👍🏻

JasonClareMP Maybe a homebuilders scheme 😂😂😂. I think I've seen that somewhere already 🤔🤔

Temperature checking via thermal cameras 'not reliable enough' to track COVID-19 | Sky News AustraliaSecurity expert Daniel Lewkovitz says security systems which use infrared thermal technology to measure temperatures are not reliable enough to be used in tracking COVID-19.\n\nAs people begin to go back to work and public venues resume operation during the COVID-19 pandemic, temperature checking is becoming a general requirement in order to work or as a condition of entry to a venue.\n\nA number of security companies have started selling fever detecting systems which use infrared and thermal technology to measure the temperature of passing people.\n\nMr Lewkovitz says the vendors will always say the reading will not be accurate if you are wearing glasses, meaning anyone who is wearing something to obscure the view of their forehead or face can result in negative detection.\n\n“We all want to get past this but there’s no easy answers, this is a very complicated problem and just throwing something up on the wall is not a reliable way of preventing it,” he said. Being an expert his opinion will be automatically dismissed by everyone at sky nothing can replace swab for testing..you take paracetamol and won't have temp. just swab all .lol..listen to what countries like Korea have done and been successful..problem is Australia are arrogant and refuse to take clues from countries that did well. The countless number of “experts” who have vouched for the system since its introduction to combat SARS would seem to disagree with him.
