"It is a high-end manufacturer, it has high intellectual property, it is a global leader with global spread, manufacturing across the globe," he said. "It's turned its product from being a small handful to an absolute plethora.
" Mr Lucas said he understood the politics behind the government's "letter of intent" deal with AstraZeneca, pointing out "it's not the only option". "CSL is still banking on the Queensland University trial," he said. "The catch with the Queensland University one is that it is only in stage one trials, which means at best it would likely be produced by June next year, more likely December.
