Members of the Republican National Committee are starting to debate who will lead the party if Trump loses the election in November.

Two crossed lines that form an 'X'. It indicates a way to close an interaction, or dismiss a notification.

The approaching battle for control of the RNC mirrors other fights inside the GOP which could explode into public view if Trump loses.A victory for President Donald Trump this November means he would unequivocally solidify his control over the Republican party. , told Insider this week. "For those who support Trump, the question will be: 'How do we complete what we already started?'"

But Trump's withering poll numbers, continuing gaffes and scandals have driven some in the party to begin pondering a change in GOP leadership after November. "That is where the fight will be, it could be a bloodbath," the RNC member said. "It would not be unusual for that vacuum of power — if we don't hold the White House — to create the fight in and among factions for control of the Republican base."

An RNC spokesman declined to comment on its future leadership plans, saying instead that the committee was focused solely on helping Trump win re-election in November. Veteran conservative activists and establishment Republicans who've maintained a tenuous relationship with Trump and his team over the last four years are eyeing a return to power.

DonnaWithrow2 The 'soul' of the Republican party is a non-entity.

Here are the choices to lead the party after November

Mitt Romney is the best bet at this point.

Oh you are so out of touch with reality... Lol

If?

I vote for Barron to lead it

Mitt Romney is their best choice!

Ivanka 😝

We are evangelical Christians not voting for Donald Trump this time

If Trump loses, Trump leads the party. He will go after another term. If Trump wins, Trump leads the party. And he may even go after a third term. How? By egging on Obama to run again, getting Dems to be on board with eliminating term limits.

Reality check ... If he loses, he will plan more rallies, more often, and take pot shots more often on anyone not agreeing with him in the Republican Party ... And do it with a continued massive following. In short, they can name someone else, but he’ll still be in charge.

I know a few people who would jump at the opportunity. cc: ProjectLincoln reedgalen keithedwards TheRickWilson SteveSchmidtSES stuartpstevens NHJennifer jwgop
