The owner of one of the country’s oldest horse-drawn barges has stopped giving river trips after clashing with ‘snowflake’ canal users.
Ms Roberts said that ‘snowflakes’ who did not understand the nature of the business had accused her of animal cruelty and that clashes with those who refused to step back to allow the horses to pass had made journeys too stressful.off leads and people with pushchairs, we are suffering a fair bit of verbal abuse,’ she said.‘The towpath has become totally unusable for a horse.
There are now only three locations in Britain running horse-drawn barge trips — Llangollen, in Denbighshire, Newbury, Berkshire, and Tiverton.
