Critics of the current isolation system say that it does not increase confidence in the struggling travel industry.

Extensive coronavirus testing is needed at airports to stop the"dire" effect the quarantine system is having on the travel industry, Labour has said.

The UK government has been making weekly decisions on which travellers must isolate for 14 days based on the countries they are returning from. But travellers have sometimes been given just a few hours' warning, leaving them facing inflated airfares if they try to return before the restrictions are brought in.Critics of the system say that it does little to increase confidence in the travel industry, which was among the worst-affected by the coronavrius pandemic.

Shadow home secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds called for a"robust testing regime in airports" as a way to minimise the need for the two-week isolation period upon return to the UK.He said there were also"serious concerns" about how isolating returnees were monitored, claiming"less than a third of passenger locator forms are checked".

In his letter to Home Secretary Priti Patel, Mr Thomas-Symonds wrote:"I write to call for a rapid review to fix chaotic quarantine arrangements that are losing public confidence and undermining our ability to keep people safe and save jobs.

This should be on departure and not arrival, if it comes into effect. Why would you want an infected person on a plane in the first place?

Great idea, but how wouod it be implemented with 10s of thousands arriving daily at a airport, where will the queue be? clearly labour hasn’t thought of the practical or the logistics side of it of inside a airport,

If it happens I'm sure many people are going to be happy to pay for getting themselves tested before & after the flights.

So, despite its proven ineffectiveness in preventing transmission or detecting those carrying the virus in its early stages (under 3 days and no symptoms) they still want us to carry out testing, because it means spending public money? 🤔

Hows about DONT TRAVEL IN A PANDEMIC..............

Which other countries do it?

Labour don't know anything on how the tests will work 100%. Covid-19 has a incubation period of 14 days. Is testing 100%...🤔 Labour experts in opposition.

Do I must take a test when arriving at the Airport

There should be two tests within 5 days of each other.

Finally

Point of contact rapid antigen test is the way forward,,,a test which is fast ,sensitive, economical, easy-to-use, makes life easy
