New York City restaurants lost 195,000 jobs between February and April, but plan to bring back staff as the state allows limited indoor dining later this month

New York City restaurant owner Ricky Dolinsky is bringing his staffing levels back to prepandemic levels in light of the state’s decision to allow limited indoor dining later this month.

Mr. Dolinsky’s Lower East Side restaurant, Tzarevna, was closed for three months because of the coronavirus pandemic and reopened this summer for outdoor dining. He said he is planning to hire at least two or three more workers for indoor dining service.

Restaurants can't survive on 25% capacity. It's hard enough without restrictions given their margins. Follow health protocols and open up schools and businesses NOW. Are you really going to wait until after the election? NYGovCuomo BilldeBlasio

HHhahhahhahah NYC deserves this

With margins so slim opening at 25% capacity is something I wouldn’t do as a business owner

Let an abandoned NYC rest in peace. Use it as a monument to incompetent leadership.

Too little too late. No one lives in the city anymore. It’s sad...used to live there and thought it was one of the most amazing cities on earth. Started going downhill about 5 years ago, now it’s toast. They won’t recover.

Good and well.iven in east africa tanzani we are suffer,we don't know when we will go back to work. Noo any help from the government.

Sorry. October wave will mix that

So you can fill a bus, fill a subway car, fill an airplane, go to a gym, but you can't sit inside at a restaurant? And the 'science' says 25% is the magic number? This is a pretty obvious case of DeBlasio and Cuomo sabotaging employment numbers pre-election....it's criminal.

Correction: the New York City government revoked almost 200,000 jobs between February and April through sheer tyrannical force, and think they'll recover all those jobs as they slowly return the right of the people to go to fucking work. Wait-how many restaurants closed forever?

Let’s be clear... THEY WILL NOT BRING BACK ALL THE STAFF. There simply isn’t a need.

Didn’t the idiotic mayor say no interior dining till next year?

Dems will open restaurants on November 4

Good luck with that.
