New York City’s business leaders have looked for ways to help the city during its looming financial crisis, as they have done previously in tough times, but some say they haven’t found much of a partner in Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The new coronavirus pandemic has devastated the city’s economy and erased billions of dollars in tax revenue. Nearly 650,000 people were unemployed as of August and thousands of small businesses have closed since March.
Because Big Bird is a liberal, residents of NYC will just sit around and let him destroy the city - or move to the suburbs like many are doing. If this chaos happened under a republican, there would be protests night and day in front of Gracie Mansion.
NYCMayor ‘s arrogance and incompetence is going to kill the city. Relying on federal funds while ignoring business leaders (effectively daring them to leave NYC) will have a negative impact that will continue long after he leaves office. This will not end well.
