Nvidia's new platform promises to give smaller video conferencing competitors advanced AI functionality needed to compete against Google and Microsoft

Nvidia Maxine this week, a video conferencing platform that offers a slew of communications enhancements through AI and computer vision technology.Business Insider Intelligence

Some of the more commonplace features on Nvidia Maxine include intelligent noise cancellation, real-time audio translation and transcription, and automatic frame adjustments. But Nvidia's unique expertise in GPU-powered computer vision shines through in other areas: For instance, Nvidiathat the computer vision techniques will enable video conferencing to work with 10% of the bandwidth typically required.

Nvidia's new platform promises to give smaller video conferencing competitors the advanced AI functionality needed to compete against Google and Microsoft. In a bid to capitalize on the surge in video conferencing during the coronavirus pandemic, Google and Microsoft have poured resources into building out AI on their respective platforms.
