A government minister has criticised 'inappropriate' plans to give MPs a pay rise in the middle of the coronavirus crisis

Richard Lloyd, IPSA's interim chair, said:"IPSA is responsible for setting MPs' pay and pensions.

"We carried out a major review of MPs' pay with consultations in 2012, 2013 and 2015, and technical adjustments in 2018. IPSA have launched an online consultation on their plans and expect to make a final decision in December.

If ever there was a time not to do this it’s now. Politicians getting yet another pay rise when the rest of the UK struggles is a real slap in the face for the public. Out of touch and don’t care. BorisHasFailedTheNation
