The badly battered lodging business is stirring to life, roused by hotel owners and investors betting that bookings will pick up when Covid-19 vaccines become widespread and more Americans itch to travel again

“The U.S. hotel industry is very slowly regaining solid footing,” said Jan Freitag, national director of hospitality analytics at CoStar Group Inc., a commercial real-estate data firm.

Few expect hotels to return to their pre-pandemic level of business for another two to three years. International travel to the U.S. collapsed in 2020, and hoteliers hold little hope it will accelerate much this year. Demand for conventions and large meetings that have been a staple for many large hotels in downtowns and resorts also looks grim in 2021.

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hotel pool that looked like that.

Hopefully a lesson learned after bailouts to these industries is they’re all dependent upon THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! I doubt the federal government or Wall Street will EVER give the American worker & consumer their fair share of the American Pie! It’s time to change the stakeholders!

Hotels are going to need to be careful. If they don’t restore amenities like daily housekeeping, etc. there is nothing setting them apart from Airbnb vrbo and the like.

How did it fare in terms of $$ aid? Certainly better than the people who work for the industry. Wasn’t Trump rolling out all sorts of special perks for the hotel industry?

United Kingdom and Inchcape PLC must apologize !!! For the use of slave labor, in the interests of the British company Inchcape and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, violation of human rights.
