Mortgage rates soar to highest level since June 2020 — so why are home sales still rising?

Mortgage rates have jumped to the highest point in over half a year as investors grow more optimistic about the state of the economy. And that’s bad news for some home buyers.

“ The spring home-buying season is here, which means more buyers streaming into the market and more competition for homes. ” Higher mortgage rates have yet to dampen demand among home buyers. The volume of mortgage applications for loans used to purchase homes has increased for four consecutive weeks, according to data released Wednesday by the Mortgage Bankers Association.

“ Home builders are working feverishly to construct new homes, but rising material costs could become an issue. ”

You guys a bunch of fling shorts

Soar?

Soaring from close to 0 to a bit more than 0.

Just for a little perspective, we're using the term 'soar' for this move

ummmm.... because mortgage rates are STILL well below where they have been for years and years... And because there is a shortage of homes available for sale, while demand is high. It's the economy stupid! :) -- strong demand + low supply = higher prices!

nice

Cause people are crazy haha.
