U.S. equities fell on Friday's open, following the cue of global stock markets as investors responded to signs of weakening economic activity in China and the eurozone. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.40% fell 171 points, or 0.5%, to 33,889. The S&P 500 SPX, -0.53% slid 24 points, or 0.6%, to 4,188, after closing at a record on Thursday. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.61% was down 0.7% to 13,991.
