According to the Commerce Department, the economy grew at an annual rate of 6.4% between January and March as millions of Americans got vaccinated against COVID-19 and the federal government spent trillions of dollars on stimulus checks to families and individuals.

The pipeline system transports 45% of fuel used on the East Coast, and the company said Sunday all four of its main gas lines remained inoperational. states like Georgia and Tennessee could see the biggest increases in gas prices because there are few gas line alternatives to Colonial, while states in the Northeast could see price spikes from relying on supplemental gas from foreign imports.

Georgia gas prices increased by more than 30 cents a gallon in 2016 when a Colonial system line shut down for 10 days, according to
