Asia-Pacific stocks set for mixed start as investors monitor Chinese tech stocks

The European Central Bank announced Thursday a slowing in the pace of net asset purchases under its pandemic emergency purchase program.

SINGAPORE — Shares in Asia-Pacific looked set for a mixed Friday start, following overnight losses on Wall Street that saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average declining for the fourth straight day. Futures pointed to a lower open for Japanese stocks. The Nikkei futures contract in Chicago was at 29,925 while its counterpart in Osaka was at 29,920. That compared against theAustralian stocks, on the other hand, appeared poised to rise.
