The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, seems not to care whether Nigerians live or die, even when the international communities are concerned that citizens of developing countries must survive the vicissitudes of COVID-19 by donating funds and vaccines.
When businesses are given tax relief, they can expand, increase output, employ more workers who will be part of the consumers of the improved production and ultimately businesses make profits with the resultant higher tax returns to government. The new workers also start paying taxes to government, further improving revenue through personal income tax payments. The converse is also true.
