Family, friends and followers will bid farewell to former veteran broadcaster Winnie Mahlangu on Thursday.

She will be buried at the Pretoria East Cemetery.

Mahlangu who was affectionately known as Mafungwase, joined the public broadcaster as the first black woman broadcaster at the erstwhile Radio Bantu in 1962.In the video below, Mahlangu has been described as a pillar of strength in the broadcasting industry:
