Walgreens, which saw strong sales during the winter quarter, maintained its outlook for the year.

Walgreens Boots Alliance beat expectations for fiscal second-quarter earnings due to customers turning to its stores and website for Covid tests and vaccines during the omicron variant wave.Walgreens said same-store sales for retail in the U.S. jumped 14.7% in the three-month period compared with the year-ago period, the largest gain in 20 years.
