Rishi Sunak has described scrutiny about his wife's investments as upsetting but the Labour leader says it is in the public interest for the chancellor to give an answer.

In the Commons on Thursday, Labour's shadow cabinet office minister Fleur Anderson was ordered by the speaker to withdraw a claim that Mr Sunak was"hypocritical" because of his family's shares in the company.

Cabinet Office minister Steve Barclay said he would not"engage in a number of sweeping comments which are not about addressing the record of this government" and said Lord Geidt, the adviser on ministers' interests"addresses those issues in the usual way".

"Infosys has a small team of employees based out of Russia, that services some of our global clients, locally. We do not have any active business relationships with local Russian enterprises. "A key priority for Infosys in times of adversity, is to continue extending support to the community. The company has committed $1m towards relief efforts for the victims of war from Ukraine."

Not half as upsetting as being bombed out your home and walking to.the nearest border with nothing but the clothes on ur back.

Fishy Rishi’s upset that he’s been rumbled

The hypocrite who thinks Labour supporters agree with his pathetic statement, yet he won't let his own family be investigated. Yet another Labour - one rule for Keir and he expects another for everyone else. I wish he would stop his nonsense and actually get a workable policy!

wendyjstanley Where is the scrutiny intk the Chinese spy money and tbe UKLabour ? Double standards ?

I wonder who the country will vote in the next time?

Typical Starmer the man that never does anything wrong what a joke

what happened to this ? Nothing

Sanction him it’s very simple. I’m sure you can gather the data to prove all this without him coming clean..

The interests and actions of MP’s and their families are in the public interest. Sunak recently chose not to increase taxes on unearned income, rent, dividends etc but to increase NI which only applies to earned income of working age people 🤔

Sack him.

Starmer is such a spoil sport, he is nothing but a party pooper, peeing on Sunaks parade! leave him be leave him to pillage and proposer and party til his heart is content. Its only a bit of business with Russia what’s the issue. We all need to make a living CostOfLivingCrisis

With such a high profile and critical position, he should be absolutely squeaky clean. Dodgy links in his wife's name fool nobody. He sets up furlough payments, she milks it. She deals with Russia he says 'stop picking on her' pathetic

They are married...when you are.married you become one.....including financially...so he knows what she's worth...plus he is the chancellor so of course he knows

Indian women are strong, assertive, bold, highly entrepreneurial....and beautiful

Why does he mean 'come clean'? It is a matter of record on the Infosys website that she is a significant shareholder in the company her father founded. It is an Indian company following Indian guidance It has an immaterial Russian presence I assume we are not saying sell?

Sunak and Boris are toast , unfortunately it’s two years till we can get them out, I have voted conservative all my life but I whatnot to see the back of this government
