Elon Musk says Tesla's humanoid Optimus robot 'will be worth more than the car business' (via CNBCMakeIt)

Musk said the goal was to create a machine that could drive labor costs down."It's intended to be friendly, of course, and navigate through a world of humans, and eliminate dangerous, repetitive and boring tasks," CNBC reported Musk saying at the time.

Musk said that he envisioned a future where the robot could run errands for its human owners as well. "It should be able to, you know, please go to the store and get me the following groceries, that kind of thing," he said., also said that the robot was being designed so that humans will be able to outrun it or overpower it were something to go wrong.. "No Terminator stuff or that kind of thing."

The robot will be five foot eight inches tall and weigh 125 pounds, Tesla said. It will carry a maximum of 45 pounds, lift 150 pounds and will move at a maximum speed of 5 miles per hour. Its face will be a "screen for useful information."
