Part four of the State Capture report is expected to officially be handed over to the Presidency on Friday.

It is expected to focus on Eskom, the Free State Asbestos project and the R1 billion housing project debacle in the same province.

Meanwhile, the High Court in Pretoria has granted the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture a six-week extension for the completion of the final report. Speaking to the SABC in an exclusive interview on Thursday, the Commission’s Chairperson Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo highlighted the reason behind the extensions: “We are at the tail-end of it now. My staff and I completed part four of the report and it was then electronically sent to the Presidency. The Commission had a lot of evidence on very important issues and we have taken the view that we need to be thorough in terms of the analysis of evidence because the findings we make affect people.

The Presidency will be publish this part shortly after its presented at around 10am to the Presidency by the Secretary of the Commission, Professor Itumeleng Mosala. Chief Justice and Commission Chairperson, Judge Raymond Zondo presented the first part of the report to President Cyril Ramaphosa in Pretoria on the 4th of January 2022.Share article
