Austin company plans to replace recycling facility near Lone Star with 310 apartments

Courtesy of Davies CollaborativeAn Austin company got the final green light Wednesday to build apartments at the site of a recycling facility near the former Lone Star Brewery complex.

“The project will redevelop an existing, active trash and recycling facility, which will help revitalize the corridor and catalyze future development,” the company stated in its application. A group that includes OHT and Austin investor and attorney Jimmy Nassour bought the 4.2-acre site in 2018. Soon after, they proposed the project and had the land rezoned for multifamily development.OHT is a multifamily construction, development and investment company. Its local projects include Amara near The Rim shopping center, Landmark at Grandview on Vance Jackson Road and Platinum Shavano Oaks on Huebner Road., with plans to renovate it for a mix of uses.
