GEORGE TOWN: Local engineering construction company has been chosen as the main contractor for state mega project Gurney Wharf.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the company Teto Engineering Sdn Bhd has been chosen through an open tender after being evaluated thoroughly by state government officials.

Chow said five tenders had been opened and the Johor based company had been offered as the main contractor that would be responsible for executing the main building works for the project.The project cost was initially estimated at RM176mil but has now grown to RM200mil and was expected to be completed by as early as 2025.
