Private equity group CPE Capital has gone shopping at direct to consumer retailing business Direct Group, picking up a stake in a process run by Miles Advisory.

Direct Group started selling jewellery to Australian and NZ customers in the 1980s, and now sells all sorts of goods to customers via online, print, television and digital channels.CPE Capital invested $40 million into Direct Digital Group Holdings, Director Group’s parent company, last month, and its dealmaker Adam Gordon has joined Direct Group’s board.

Direct Group recorded $297 million in revenue from contracts with customers in the 2021 financial year, and a $14.6 million post-tax profit. Other investments in CPEC 9 include bike retailer Pushys and Concrete Solutions, which is the second-biggest maker of concrete pipes and precast products in Australia.
