The state government says they sought the powers as a

precautionary measure – rather than in anticipation of an imminent shortfall.

In the same day we saw that stupid PM signed a resolution to reduce carbon emissions by 43%, claiming it will provide cheap power to Aussies. Ask California how it worked for then, how their solar panels plant is at moment and how much for electricity people are paying there.
