Traders and business centre operators at the University of Abuja have decried low sales arising as a result of the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

The strike, already in its fourth month, has seen the absence of students, the major patrons, from the university community.

“I knew very well how this business thrived in the university community; that is one of the major reasons I came here. I used to make much more money than my colleagues operating the same business elsewhere.Lawal, who also sells stationeries, said it had been double jeopardy because it was students who were buying such stuff.
