as Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok is currently testing the service in China., ByteDance, the owners of TikTok and Douyin is reportedly ‘trying to open delivery options’ for group-purchased goods fro some businesses with urgent needs. Furthermore, Douyin itself has confirmed the project, saying that it is ‘still under exploration’.
However, despite ByteDance being China’s largest unicorn and has within its arsenal the most popular app in the world, breaking into the food delivery market in China could prove to be a challenge too big.
However, we’re not writing off ByteDance just yet as if there’s one company that can do it, it probably will be the unicorn. Besides, the company can always introduce food delivery services in other regions where TikTok has a significant presence, which these days are practically almost everywhere. What do you guys think?
