The Presidential Climate Commission wants to urgently begin working with the coal players on the Just Energy Transition, but claims conversations so far have been cut short by the industry's denialism.
"Every time we try to move closer to the coal industry and have this conversation we are met with this bluster [that] … either the transition never going to happen or they believe in this fiction that carbon capture and storage is going to rise to the rescue and save the market," Crispian Olver, executive director of the Presidential Commission on Climate Change, said at the Coal and Energy Transition Day on Wednesday.
