As a server at Crown and Anchor Pub, Kucharchuk said she noticed customers waiting for rides. She saw a need for more taxi services in Whitecourt, to meet demand and bring down wait times.Article content To launch Candy’s Cabs, Kucharchuk said she had to purchase the vehicles, obtain commercial insurance and recruit Class 4-licenced drivers.
Kucharchuk also began work on securing licensing from Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis for the liquor deliveries. Currently, Kucharchuk said Candy’s Cabs has three full-time drivers and six part-timers, and she would be interested in recruiting more.
