Amazon plans to raise pay for drivers in its delivery network in a bid to ensure staffing for the peak holiday season

com Inc. is planning to raise its pay for some of its delivery partners as the e-commerce giant gears up for the peak holiday season amid a persistently tight labor market, according to people familiar with the matter.

The company will fund wage increases for its North American drivers in its Delivery Service Partners program as soon as this week, the people said. The company will invest more than $300 million in the increased wages, it said at a conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday with leaders of some of its delivery partners. The company also announced tuition support benefits and a 401 investment plan for drivers, the people said.
