The company declined to confirm the sales number, but said they were expecting at least 5,000 customers opening day.

During its opening weekend, hundreds of customers lined up outside the store for a chance to shop in North Texas’ first location.

According to the story, H-E-B declined to confirm the sales number, but said they were expecting at least 5,000 customers opening day. If confirmed, $1 million would beat industry group FMI’s average weekly sales for a U.S. supermarket, which was $638,756 in 2021. The story reported that on opening day, H-E-B’s True Texas BBQ restaurant sold 1,000 pounds of brisket.

An H-E-B in Plano is next in line with an opening date expected at the end of October or the beginning of November.
