Virta Health, a San Francisco-based health technology company that specializes in diabetes treatment, chose Denver as the site of its new headquarters, Gov.The company employs 392 people, including 100 who already work at a satellite office in Denver. According to the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, Virta plans to create 1,000 new jobs with the move of its headquarters. It expects to hire engineers, researchers, sales and account managers, clinicians and administrative roles.

The announcement was made Friday morning during the annual Site Selection Conference hosted by the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp. The Metro Denver EDC recruited Vita Health to the city, said its president,The state of Colorado approved up to $6.9 million in job growth incentive tax credits for Virta Health, which are based on the company's performance over the next eight years. , the company's chief operating officer, said in a statement.
