Adam Nash has spent much of his career working on startups that help people make money and spend it. Now he’s expanding his latest venture to help families with philanthropy.
Daffy makes use of donor-advised funds, which are an increasingly popular and convenient way for people to support their favorite nonprofits. A client gets an immediate tax break on a contribution to their donor-advised fund and can later advise where they’d like a donation to be made, perhaps to a college, food bank or other qualifying charitable organization.
Nash co-founded Daffy, a mobile app, with Alejandro Crosa, who is Daffy’s chief technology officer. They saw an opportunity to expand the use of donor-advised funds by charging a monthly fee rather than a percentage of assets in the fund, which they see as leading providers to naturally focus on clients with larger donor-advised funds.
