After trimming routes, Breeze starts serving 4th city from Jax airport

Breeze Airways has started flying to a fourth destination from Jacksonville, with a nonstop flight to Westchester County Airport near New York City taking off for the first time Thursday.“We’re excited to keep growing from Jacksonville and serving Northeast Florida residents with low fares and nonstop flights to popular destinations,” said Breeze president Tom Doxey. “Now with four nonstops from JAX, Breeze can get you there twice as fast for about half the price.

Breeze launched in Jacksonville in March, with plans to serve seven cities — something that the Jacksonville Aviation Authority called"the single largest air announcement in the airport’s history."Providence, Rhode Island; and Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia. Breeze's activity in Jacksonville is supported by a grant from the city of up to $1 million, with the airline being reimbursed up to $100,000 per route for marketing efforts.
