The US labor market is still going strong, adding 263,000 jobs in September

The fever hasn’t broken yet for America’s employment market, but the temperature is coming down. The economy added 263,000 jobs in September, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday, slightly more than economists had estimated. While still robust, the headline number marks the second consecutive month of falling totals and points to a labor market slowdown — an outcome the Federal Reserve is seeking as it battles decades-high inflation.

3% from 62.4% the month before. “There was hope that the reopening of schools would have been a great moment for a restart” for many of the people who left the labor force during the pandemic, Pollak told CNN Business. “We may not see some of the people who left come back.” The unemployment rate for September fell back to its half-century low of 3.5% from 3.7%, a result of the decline in the number of people looking for work.

Why does CNN always have democrats on tv? Why not ask repubs too. Trump this Trump that. Lets take a look at what the CURRENT pres is doing. crap 💩 diarrhea 🩲 bugsbunny

If the hiring is going so well, why are so many places closing early or open only certain days because of “staff shortages?” And how do you explain unemployment going down when so many companies are laying off workers but the hundreds or even thousands and closing stores?

Everything is great. just ignore what you see, Thats only propaganda.

With their slow rightward shift, CNN new's credibility is about equal to a bucket of shit... Really!

Why then is unemployment rising?

Strong? Hilarious.

Whos working them?

As jobs increase, the employment rate will increase, which will improve the quality of life. LuigiDonayre ECONumd

Lie. Tje economy is in a deep recession

Jobs coming back that were destroyed from lockdown don't count.

Nazi gop find something can't stand when people doing good

Where ARE those jobs?!

So to stop a recession and to improve the market we need fewer people working and for the ones that stay working they need to be paid less.

That's only because people are off the teat of the government and have to go back to work.

I would like to know how many were people who changed jobs , on average based on 250k new jobs say 3 million a year are added … I don’t see it , I would like to see a real break down but can never find it

Underemployment.

Florida will add a bunch after Ian.

Funny CNN They just reported second month of shrinking employment… You dip twits should watch the news.

One area of concern for the Fed is labor force participation, which the September report showed that it went down to 62.3% from 62.4% the month before. I wonder where this percentage will go within the next few months? LuiggiDonayre econ_ta EconUMD

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This is great! Now the fed can go ahead and hike another 75+ basis points and crash the market!!!!!! Go Biden!!!

Is it back atpre-covid levels yet?

Can't find it on this feed (shouldn't it be on here?), but the FBI released its latest crime stats for 2021, and crime is way up. OH, and the report doesn't include some cities, such as....Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. And you STILL follow along blindly?

The economy may never recover!

Thanks Joe!

Not jobs that people want though...

People getting second job to make ends meet

What is the truth about employment?

Our store needs staff

Jesus, how slanted can the media be? It marks the lowest monthly gain since April 2021. But the sheep will just obediently tow the line, not taking the time to actually educate themselves, nor have the integrity to speak the truth.

StopHazaraGenocide

Mostly retirees returning to work due to inflation and folks getting second jobs…

How many of those are second and third jobs for people to meet ends?

Mostly because men are taking on second jobs and women who have been stay-at-home moms are now having to work to be able to afford to live under this inflation administration.

And my part time retirement job was one of them. You are welcome.

Is that why stores and restaurants are closed early due to staffing. Everyone is leaving and going to better paying jobs..... 🤡

Jobs are available but still not paying enough for rent and groceries

StopHazaraGenocide

Another rough day for the market.

Two straight quarters of contraction (a recession) and possibly a third and inflation is raging which is cutting demand, and employment numbers are up? Something isn't adding up here.

'Why this means Biden is in trouble and Trump will save us by running again' CNN Headline, probably

Fake news can’t make up its mind if it’s growing or slowing.

Biden-Harris and the democrats are firing on all cylinders.

Hunter biden? Cnn ? Crickets of course...

trying to put your BS spin on it, numbers actually suck

Thank you POTUS

But nobody wants to work because of free government money. It’s killing this country.

Gas is $5/gal in NY

The Broncos are hiring at QB

Thanks, Mr. President! POTUS

Yes! Carry that water for your political masters into the midterms.

Best jobs presidents (by jobs created under their terms): Biden, Obama and Clinton. Worst jobs presidents: Bush senior, Bush junior and Trump. There is a pattern here. Democrats invest, Republicans are just a lobby to lower taxes for rich people.

Did they forecast 275,000? Your article is misleading.

Republicans rn that can't use employment as talking point before midterm elections

All starting at 12 a hour

lies

Excellent news. Record employment
