Bonda, who previously served as senior director of development for Brookfield Properties, will oversee development of Lendlease’s Hayes Point, a $1.15 billion dollar project that broke ground earlier this year. Hayes Point, slated to feature 333 condominium units atop 290,000 square feet of Class A office space, is among the only major developments to move forward in San Francisco this year.
Lendlease’s commitment to moving forward with Hayes Point was among the factors that drew Bonda to the publicly traded Australian company, she told me Friday. Bonda, while at Brookfield,, a billion-dollar project on the corner of Fifth and Mission streets that delivered at the end of 2021. The development included a 302-unit apartment building, open space and 640,000 square feet of Class A office — the only such space to deliver in San Francisco in 2021.
“I’m really excited to continue my career here in San Francisco, and to continue to work on ambitious, visionary, marquee projects in this city at this time,” Bonda, whose first day was Oct. 3, said. “I learned so much through my experience at 5M, and I’m really excited to translate that to this project.”
Bonda has worked in San Francisco real estate since 2018, when she arrived in the city to serve as a development manager for developer Forest City Realty Trust after nearly four years spent with the company in a similar role in New York City. She joined Brookfield in late 2018 following Brookfield’s acquisition of Forest City.
