People said the closure was 'inevitable'

A bank closure in Beeston has been labelled a 'shame' by shoppers who have been left to ponder the future of the 'lovely' building. NatWest recently announced its branch in High Road will close on January 25, 2023.

"I will have to go into town now, but it might be an issue for the elderly to do that. The other issue I suppose is what will replace it once the bank has gone - it's a prominent spot. "It going to be trickier for them and cause them trouble if they're not good with technology. I prefer to go into a bank and talk to someone, but everything has changed with the internet.

"It was inevitable and to be expected but for as long as I can remember it has been a bank. I don't want it to be empty as it is an attractive building - if they keep it looking similar but find a different use that would be ideal."
